Graham Brunton Racing joins GB4 Championship with two-car entry

Thursday, January 13 2022

The Graham Brunton Racing (GBR) team has confirmed it will join the GB4 Championship partnered by the BRDC, with a two-car line-up planned for the 2022 season.

The Scottish-based squad is one of the leading names in National Formula Ford racing, and also competes in a range of historic championships including Classic F3 across the UK and Europe.

The Walter Hayes Trophy and Formula Ford Festival front-runners have ordered two Tatuus F4-T014 cars from MSV ahead of their return to contemporary slicks and wings racing in the UK, and will shortly confirm their first driver signing.

GBR's entry into GB4 marks an MSV championship return following a season in BRDC F4 with Ciaran Haggerty in 2015, which saw the young Scotsman power to fifth overall with multiple podium finishes.

As well as a successful racing operation, GBR has also expanded its interests into international race car preparation, young driver development, motorsport logistics and event support to the motorsport industry, running out of its purpose-built base at Knockhill Circuit.

Links with some of the country's leading motorsport talent means their young driver academy receives input from sports car ace Jonny Adam, among others.

Team Manager Craig Brunton said: "I am so excited to get the team back to work with up to date slicks and wings racing.

"The GB4 Championship is being put together with the right tools to be the best proving ground for young drivers. Our current FF1600 cars are great training for young drivers cutting their teeth and we feel the Tatuus chassis offers the perfect next step.

"This is exactly what we aim for with our young driver development - learning an apprenticeship in the sport and equipping the driver with the right tools for the job.

"Timing is everything in motorsport and we feel it's the perfect moment for us to step up and take on the challenge in the new GB4 Championship."
