First pictures: Tatuus MSV-022 GB3 car breaks cover

Friday, December 24 2021

The first Tatuus MSV-022 car for use in the GB3 Championship partnered by the BRDC is built and ready for testing at the championship's headquarters at Bedford Autodrome.

The heavily upgraded machine includes a completely new chassis incorporating the halo among other safety improvements including improved side-impact protection, revisions to the roll hoop, headrest, front anti-intrusion panel, seat and fuel cell areas.

The overhauled aerodynamics package, comprising a totally revised underfloor, diffuser, skid block, keel and bib, plus changes to the side pods, radiator ducts, damper cover, front wing end plates and engine cover means the car produces a 25% increase in overall downforce compared to the championship's previous machine.

The Mountune-prepared two-litre four cylinder normally aspirated engine also has an extra 20 horsepower, with the package now producing 250bhp at 8500rpm and featuring the side air-intake and carbon airbox, plus a fly-by-wire port throttle inlet manifold system.

Testing of the Tatuus MSV-022 will take place in the first week of January at Bedford Autodrome, and teams will be able to collect their first upgrade kits in week one, 2022.
