BMCRC racing set to sizzle on the GP Circuit this weekend

Sunday, July 07 2019

Brands Hatch is set for two fantastic days of motorcycle racing this weekend (13/14 July) when the BMCRC Club Bike Championships take to the legendary Grand Prix circuit.

The British Motorcycle Racing Club is one of the best supported bike racing organisations in the country, usually attracting huge entries. This is the club's big summer event and their only event of 2019 on the Brands Hatch GP circuit.

This weekend's line-up includes the extremely rapid MRO Powerbikes class, which is open to all 1000cc machines, including stock and heavily modified bikes. The series runs to open regulations, meaning that a wide variety of clever engineering solutions are allowed, and these bikes should be stunning to watch as they stretch their legs on the long straights of the GP loop.

For evenly-matched competition, spectators need look no further than the Thunderbike and Thunderbike Extreme classes, both of which are regulated by power-to-weight ratio. This means that a diverse mixture of motorcycles is eligible to enter, but all of them are competing on a relatively level playing field.

The Yamaha Past Masters offers some retro action with budget racing on the great Yamaha LC, TZR and YPVS bikes of the 80's and early 90's.

Spectators are welcome to come and take a closer look at all of the machines in the open paddock, which should be one of the busiest of the season. Here they can see the bikes as they are prepared for battle, and meet the riders.

Tickets for the BMCRC Club Bike Championships on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit are available for £12 online or on the gate for £16 with free entry for under-13s. For more information please call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
