MSVR launches 2015 season at Brands Hatch

Wednesday, February 18 2015

MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) launched its tenth season at Brands Hatch today (Wednesday), with a diverse 22-series portfolio, displaying options for everyone from trackday graduates to career-minded drivers.

Major Events

  • MSVR will oversee the track activity for international events including the Blancpain GT Series Sprint event at Brands Hatch in May, and the International GT Open at Silverstone in June.
  • MSVR organises and runs a number of themed racing festivals including the NASCAR-headlined American SpeedFest, Lotus Festival, and Historic F1-headlined Masters Festival at Brands Hatch, and the Mini Festivals which run at Oulton Park in Cheshire in addition to the Kent circuit.
  • MSVR runs the track activity at both of Chris Evans’ Car Fest events, with rare and expensive cars taking to the track at Oulton Park and Laverstoke Park in Hampshire.

Single-Seaters

  • MSVR offers a number of single-seater options, allowing everyone from aspiring F1 stars in the Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship to experienced gentleman drivers to experience club motorsport in the Grand Prix style.
  • The Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship will enjoy a profile boost in 2015, co-headlining the British GT package, and live TV coverage on Motors TV, in addition to highlights on ITV. The series also benefits from an unprecedented £90,000 prize package and technical partnership with official F1 tyre supplier Pirelli for the first time. The series currently has more drivers confirmed than at the same point last year.
  • F3 Cup, the UK’s only championship for modern Formula 3 cars will be open to National B licence holders in 2015 and include 2008-2011 F3 cars for the first time. Like Duo BRDC F4, all cars will use Pirelli tyres.
  • More than 70 drivers have already registered for Monoposto this season, with a third grid set to be run at Cadwell Park to accommodate ex-Formula Renault cars.
  • Classic Kent-engined Formula Ford cars will race at Brands Hatch on four occasions in 2015, with the sister Super Series taking the category’s close slipstreaming action across the UK and to Europe.

Sports Cars

  • The GT Cup series for supercars is currently booming and will feature machinery from Audi, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus and Porsche in 2015. TV presenter and racer Rebecca Jackson will be on the grid as she aims to graduate to the Le Mans 24 Hour race.
  • The Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club's Lotus Cup Europe and Lotus Cup UK Speed Championship both have big entry lists for 2015.
  • The LCUK Lotus championships are also expecting healthy grids. The Elise Trophy champion will win a test drive in a classic F1 car, the Lotus Cup UK Production champion will get a test in a SuperSport car and the SuperSport champion wins a prize test in a GT4 sportscar.
  • Radical Sportscars returns with a ladder from novice racing in the SR1 Cup to the European Masters, which concludes at Yas Marina, home of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
  • The Atom Cup has been revamped to feature three races at several events for the first time in 2015.

Saloons

  • One of MSVR’s most popular championships, MINI Challenge, boasts a new prize structure, with the wealth distributed amongst the classes, and welcomes the latest F56 generation MINI to the grid.
  • Affordable racing is provided by the Production BMW championship for 1980s generation BMW 3-Series cars, and the Racing Saloons series for a wide variety of 80s and 90s classics.
  • The VAG trophy is under new management in 2015, with full grids of modern VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda,
  • MSVT’s trackday and team trophy series offers a sociable atmosphere for rookie racers and experienced club racers alike, with themed party evenings and an end-of-season event at Lets Race’s high-tech simulator facility being introduced for this year.
